PDGF Recovery Week by Week: What the Downtime Looks Like
There are endless treatments that promise to revitalize the skin. But what if you could use powerful compounds from your own blood to stimulate collagen, repair damaged skin, and boost cellular renewal?
PDGF injections have become one of the most popular skin rejuvenating treatments available today.
But what can you expect after treatment? What’s the healing process like?
Here’s what you can expect during PDGF recovery.
PDGF Recovery Week by Week
Knowing what to expect after PDGF injections can make the recovery process feel a lot less scary. Here’s a quick week-by-week recovery guide.
The First 24 Hours
Immediately after treatment, your skin will look red, flushed, and mildly irritated.
These are all signs that your skin is responding to the treatment and starting the repair process. During the first 24 hours after treatment, avoid anything that could further irritate your skin, like sweating or sun exposure.
Day 2-3
During the next couple of days, the redness will start to subside. You may experience dryness, sensitivity, and some peeling as the skin continues the renewal process.
Though it can be hard, avoid picking, scrubbing, or exfoliating your skin. Practice gentle care and use non-irritating products.
Day 4-7
About a week after treatment, all of the obvious post-treatment side effects should be mostly gone. Your skin may start to look smoother and more refreshed.
But, the deeper benefits of PDGF are still developing beneath the surface.
Weeks 2-4
Over the following weeks, you’ll notice improvements in tone, texture, firmness, and radiance. Any acne scars, fine lines, or uneven pigmentation you have will be softer and less noticeable.
Weeks 4-6
By this time, you’ll start noticing more than just a temporary post-treatment glow. This is when the regenerative benefits become visible.
As your skin starts to produce and remodel collagen, it will look firmer and smoother.
Week 7 and Beyond
Around weeks seven and eight, you should start seeing more obvious improvements in firmness, texture, and overall skin quality. This time period is less about recovering and more about watching your skin continue to rebuild from the inside out.
